H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in Hungary
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), on June 10, 2022, the Food Chain Safety Agency of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture notified WOAH that there was an outbreak of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza in Hungary.
The outbreak occurred in the town of Hajdu Haadhaz, Hajdu-Bihar state, which was confirmed on June 9, 2022. The source of the outbreak is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests found that 10,503 birds were suspected of being infected.
