More than 1.3 million birds have been culled in Mexico

the Mexican Ministry of Agriculture has informed WOAH of an outbreak of highly pathogenic H7N3 avian influenza in Mexico.The outbreak is located in the states of Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Puebla, Guanajuato and SAN Luis Potosi and was confirmed on January 6, 2022. The source of the outbreak is contact with wild species. Laboratory testing found 1,327,978 birds suspected to be infected, of which 3,076 became ill, 1,070 died and 1,326,908 were killed and disposed of.
