The Ministry of Commerce ruled that the increase in the volume of imported beef has harmed the domestic industry.
The total quota is 2.7 million tons, with country-specific quotas of 1.106 million tons for Brazil, 511,000 tons for Argentina, 205,000 tons for Australia, and 164,000 tons for the United States.
A 55% tariff will be imposed on the portion exceeding the quota.
The three major global beef exporters (the United States, Brazil, and Australia) have simultaneously entered a \”retaining breeding stock and expanding cattle herds\” cycle, and future supply is expected to tighten, with costs potentially being passed on to the consumer end.
