In mid-December, farmers in many parts of France drove tractors to government buildings and police stations and dumped manure in front of them to protest against the economic losses caused by the government’s slaughter of sick cattle.
The farmers believe that the government should adopt a combination of selective culling and vaccination to deal with the problem instead of simply slaughtering the sick cattle.
