The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture announced that from now on, indoor confinement measures for poultry will be implemented in several regions.
Prior to July 1st – November 5th, the European Animal Infectious Diseases Tracking System had recorded 139 cases of avian influenza in poultry, of which 14 cases occurred in Spain.
This confinement order prohibits free-range poultry raising in high-risk areas such as the southwest, central, and northern regions (except in special circumstances), and there is no set termination time for the measures.
