Spain implements indoor confinement order for poultry

The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture announced that from now on, indoor confinement measures for poultry will be implemented in several regions.

Prior to July 1st – November 5th, the European Animal Infectious Diseases Tracking System had recorded 139 cases of avian influenza in poultry, of which 14 cases occurred in Spain.

This confinement order prohibits free-range poultry raising in high-risk areas such as the southwest, central, and northern regions (except in special circumstances), and there is no set termination time for the measures.
