2. Feather Processing
Feather meal is made from poultry feathers by hydrolyzing under elevated heat and pressure and then drying and grinding. Hydrolyzed feather meal is a good source of natural protein for most animal diets. It can be used to replace a significant portion of other protein sources in livestock and aquaculture diets.
3. Blood Processing
Blood contains 16 to 18 percent protein solids and dried blood meal is a valuable ingredient in feed for non-ruminant animals because it has a high lysine content. Blood meal is also used as a high-nitrogen fertilizer.
