According to the World Journal of the Philippines on August 20, the Department of Agriculture on Wednesday issued a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to temporarily restrict imports of Australian poultry products following the H7N7 outbreak reported in Lethbridge, Victoria, Australia on July 31.
The Department of Agriculture’s Animal Industry Agency says it is working to determine whether the strain of bird flu will spread to humans.And only if Australia proves it has dealt with the outbreak will it be possible to resume trade.
